The first effort by Rockman is a solo collaboration with a song recorded by Herman Kelly and Life. Those of us who were around in the late 70's & early 80's are likely to remember those days when you danced to the drummers beat. The music itself is not altered but a rap has been written to it. Half of "Dance to the Drummers Beat" was written in the 80's the second half was written in 96 when Rockman's friend Billy Bird passed away. The song
attempts to recapture the good old days, the dawning of rap and the dances to which we
danced. Rockman is hoping it will be a favorite
novelty song with many d.j's. Shortly after this song is released , so will the following
also from the Rockman Project...
a dance song called "Hot Tonight" and an R&B song called "Don't Turn
Your Back on Love." Also following will be 3 rock song' s, "I'm Sorry Now,"
"Take Me Home" I' d like to thank Mr. Kelly and After School Publishing. They have been a big help and a "constant source" of information. They have also been very patient with me . Also Rick Ross of Delicious Vinyl (who's label also released a remix of "Dance to the Drummers Beat" by Body & Soul) for leading me to Mr. Kelly. The Rockman Project is producing an album "Diverse-city" which is capable of breaking into many charts. Not only because of its diverse selections, but also because of the diversity of the city it which it was born (New York City). The blends of music range from rap, pop, alternative, metal, dance, and r&b with an emphasis on rock and roll. This site will be updated with bio's and songs on a regular basis. The Rockman Project was created and is fronted by Robert Henriksen a.k.a. Rockman, along with the record label A.D.H.D. Rockman wears many hats-- singer/ songwriter agent ,marketer, advertiser, researcher, promoter ,video writer and the person who makes all the calls... you name it he does it. That's were the labels name fits in. It stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder but if you ask rockman he'll tell you that A.D.H.D. has been very good to me.
Dance to the Drummer's Beat (Do You Remember Those Days?) By A.D.H.D. RECORDS.COM artist ROCKMAN continues it's year-long ride on the internet, after being a featured download for 2 consecutive months on Scour.net and a # 1 on AMP3.com, as well as making it to #13 on MP3 last year and charting in all different positions over the internet. "Too many sites to keep track of," says Robert Henriksen, writer of the rap "Do You Remember Those Days?" Rockman teams with Herman Kelly, the original song-writer of "Dance To The Drummer's Beat," only this time around Rockman uses the original song to pay homage to the rappers of yesterday and the dances that made us sway.Do you remember those days? Has returned to the top 100 on MP3.com for the past 9 months and has reached #16 in the rap charts again - hopefully making a climb to the #1 position this time around. Rockman is a very diverse act, hence he uses the name DIVERSE-CITY" as the title of his first release which reflects his own style and New York City where he grew up. The album will contain a diverse selection of music which ranges from rock to rap. Rockman has many more songs up his sleeve and you never know what's coming next. A.D.H.D.
